Third Party Tools

Websites and apps made by other players that make Elite Dangerous easier, plus Frontier’s own help pages (tagged Frontier). NEWP doesn’t run any of them, so each link opens the tool’s own site. Most share data through EDDN, the community data network, so the more CMDRs run one of the apps below, the more up to date the websites are.

Ship building

  • EDSY Website Plan a ship’s modules and engineering and see its exact stats before you spend credits. Save or share any build as a link.
  • Coriolis Website Another ship planner with a simpler layout. ED Market Connector can open the ship you’re flying in EDSY or Coriolis with one click.
  • Inara Ships Website Every ship’s price, size and stats, with a side-by-side comparison.
  • Inara Outfitting Website Find the nearest station that sells the ship or module you want.
  • Elite Dangerous Ship Anatomy Website Shows where each ship’s hardpoints and utility mounts sit on the hull.

Trading and mining

  • Inara Commodities Website Find the best place near you to buy or sell a commodity.
  • Inara Nearest Website Search for the nearest station, system or signal by economy, services, faction and more.
  • EDTools Hotspots Website Find pristine rings with mining hotspots for the mineral you want, near your system.

Engineering

Exploration and routes

  • Spansh Neutron Router Website Plots long trips using neutron star boosts, and tells you each time to plot the next leg in the galaxy map.
  • Spansh Fleet Carrier Router Website Plots your fleet carrier’s jumps and tells you when to load more tritium.
  • NEWP Fleet Carrier Calculator Website Works out what a fleet carrier costs to buy and run each week, and how much Tritium each jump burns.
  • Spansh Road to Riches Website A route of high-value planets to scan for exploration credits.
  • Spansh Earth-like Worlds Website A route of earth-like worlds near you, among the best-paying planets to scan.
  • EDSM Website Galaxy map and star system database. It also keeps your flight log if an app like EDMC or EDDiscovery sends it your journals.
  • EDAstro Website Galaxy maps and statistics from explorers’ data. Try its interactive galaxy map, or turn your journals into a video of your travels.

Apps to install

  • ED Market Connector App · PC Runs next to the game and sends your market, outfitting and exploration data to EDDN. It can also update your EDSM and Inara profiles for you, and plugins add more.
  • EDDiscovery App · PC Reads your journals and shows everything you’ve done: a 3D map of your travels, scan values, materials, engineering and more.
  • ED Odyssey Materials Helper App · PC Tracks your on-foot and ship materials and shows what to collect for engineer unlocks and suit, weapon and ship upgrades. It imports wishlists from EDSY and Coriolis, tracks your fleet carrier stock, and has in-game overlays that show which items are useful at data ports and the Bartender. Download it from GitHub; help is on its Discord.
  • Journal Limpet Website Stores your game journals from Frontier’s servers so you can download them later. You log in with your Frontier account, with nothing to install. Its owner has said he may stop hosting it.
  • EDCD Website The Elite Dangerous Community Developers, who make many of these tools. Their site lists more of them.

Controls and binds

  • EDRefCard Website Make a printable reference card of the binds you’ve set in Elite Dangerous.
  • NEWP Keybind Viewer Checks your binds for missing combat controls without uploading anything.

Frontier help and news

  • Elite Dangerous News Frontier GalNet stories and patch notes.
  • Inara Galaxy Website Community Goals, the Powerplay cycle and other galaxy-wide news on one page.
  • Frontier Issue Tracker Frontier Report a bug, confirm other players’ reports and see what Frontier is fixing.
  • Frontier Support Frontier Open a ticket for account, purchase or game problems.
  • Frontier Staff Posts Frontier Every recent forum post by Frontier staff. Needs a free forum login.

Player groups

  • Canonn Research Group Group Players studying the game’s mysteries: alien life, Guardian ruins, Thargoids and more. Anyone can join their Discord.
  • Canonn Maps Website 3D maps of Canonn’s research: Guardian and Thargoid sites, biology, geology and more.
