HAPPY NEW YEAR
Welcome back from the Christmas break. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful time and are ready for the year ahead.
A lot of news today, so brace for the wall of text.
GAME NEWS
Frontier have dropped a message on their forum giving their update from things that came to light just before Christmas etc. Generally good to see them acknowledging issues and showing some accountability on fixing stuff.
SQUADRON NEWS
As you all know the Mentor team here at NEWP are the core of the squadron, these are the guys that drive things forward and make things happen, and a little before Christmas we decided that it was time to take on some new staff. The applications have been reviewed, and it’s my very great pleasure to introduce you to the newest NEWP Mentors.

GALACTIC NEWS
Right now we have another important Community Goal in progress, offering all commanders the change to earn themselves a set of 3 double engineered FSDs. These are unique and offer the best jump range achievable for ships using size 3, 4 and 6 respectively. So, if you’d like an opportunity to pick up some of these awesome modules, make sure you get involved with the CG. Details are here:
EVENTS
For the next week we have a special event. In collaboration with the famous Buckyball Racing Club, NEWP is bringing you a time trial to test your skills. This will be an interstellar race against the clock, testing your ability to swiftly navigate both between the stars and in real space.
The full details are up here:
(note that the final details are still being published including info about the prize fund (in game credits only).
And of course we have a dedicated events channel available on the discord where you can raise question and clarify anything you want to know more about with the organisers - CMDR Huntaer and CMDR Bruski.
